The Complaint Letters Wednesday, December 15, 2010,10:22 PM
Be happy guys, cuz it's a RECORD BREAKING 10th POST from this blog. OMG.To: My Life From: Daniel Routine Being at home, and being too sianed to do any homework has resulted in sheer boredom, so what else can I do but this? Spent the last few days practicing a hell lot. I can't think of another week when I brought home my instrument almost everyday. Why? This! Christmas Cantata 'He Came To Love' at Trinity@Paya Lebar on the 23-24 December 8PM! This is an effort by the church itself and Central of New Life Wind Ensemble directed by our very own Mr Tan Beng Wee. The performance will feature a 175 strong choir, 60 strong ensemble (including me) and drama performances. Come lighten up the mood for Christmas by attending this wonderful event and support me, Ming En and Jian Zhou. It took 2 months of hard practice to make it work, so make an effort to come! Admission is obviously, and very mercifully, FREE. Putting that on the side, thing's don't look well for homework. After this performance, it's church camp for the last week, basically putting the next week as my only time to study and complete homework. You should realise I'm getting desperate as the task at hand is hopeless and I'll need a miracle to pull through. Next year is going to the toughest year yet, and I'M NOT READY. I'll try to post more often, so that this blog doesn't always seem so dead and to actually show u guys that my life has actually progressed. If I don't, hope ya'll understand. So with that, ends this monumentally puny 10th post. psssssst. Benedict me nids you scanner. *wink* Daniel

Sorry that I haven't updated in a long time. It's been an unmotivated and busy month and there was seriously no mood to post anything at all.To: My Life From: Daniel Apologies Firstly, results weren't all that bad as I thought. Sure, there were many Bs and Cs, but thank God that I was able to get the sufficient number of A's to give me 8 points for EOYs, and for once I was actually proud to be an AEP student =) Though the batch's results were pretty horrendous. Mr Low had to give us another one of those talks, I could've slept. The number of 40 pointers was terrifying, and those 30 pointers more so. About half the batch got more than 30, and that's something to worry about. Halfway though, I had to collect the band tee and settle the logistics, so I'm glad I missed out on most on that terribly boring talk. Ahaha, about band, yea busy stuff. Open house was meh, an ok performance but quite a good effort from the band despite only having 2 practices. 45th Anniversary was horrendous and so much drama was involved, thanks to us not being informed that the SYF pieces cannot be played in public before SYF or face the risk of getting disqualified. It was utterly horrible, both the band's playing and the turn of events. Despite the horrible performance, I'd like to thank all the parents that took the time to see their sons, alumnis who played for the alumni segment (stealing the show really) and the PLCB girls whom we had an exchange with only a day before. I swear I'll do everything in my ability to get the band back in shape, of cause starting with my section. I'm going to seriously push the woodwinds to their limit and if I don't get what I want at the end of the day, they will get what they don't want from me. It's been a really dry holiday, but finally had something to shake things up. Went to WindWorks on Monday with Syahmi, Sam, Lingyi, Weijie. We met up at PL station and went for lunch @ post office Macs. It was totally weird because we just met for a little more than a week and here we are going to an instrument shop spending $$$ on instrument parts and accessories together. Must be the magic of music. Sam and Lingyi totally tried to stuff me with fries but poor thin ol' me couldn't take it and ended up getting 'WASTE FOOD' comments from a certain someone despite it not being my fault in the first place geez. We met up with some other sec 2s at the venue and spent about 3 hours at the place trying out parts, and of cause jamming with one another. Overall, it really became one of the highlights of my holidays. Not only did I get to interact and socialise with new friends, but also improve my playing and theirs. And there's that $300 barrel, but that's not important. Section outing tomorrow with PLCB clarinets. Their attendance is kind of sad, 6 people, but yea can't help it at this time of the year. We're meeting at Marina Bay MRT tomorrow at 10am so I have to get some good sleep tonight. Activities include playing games, potluck and of cause burning in the hot sun. We may have some activity after all that like watching a movie but we can all decide on that later. Hope this outing can bring both our sections closer to each other and also strengthen ties within both sections, but in tomorrow's outing, we'll be a single section having fun out there, and I'm looking forward to it ^^. New friends, bad performances, they are all part and parcel of the holiday experience. This holiday wouldn't be so vibrant without all that. With all these going on, we only have new goals to set forth toward and we'll surely improve as we strive to get better. But not everything's done yet, however. There are many things still to come. Normal band practices persist, but other important and rather big events are coming right up, and let me show you the grueling schedule: Dec 9 Section Outing Dec 10 Drills/ Band practice Dec 11 Band practice/ NSSN @ VJC Dec 12 Rehearsal for Cantata Dec 14 Rehearsal for GPCC performance Dec 15 Rehearsal for Cantata (unconfirmed) Dec 16 Sectionals Dec 17 Band Practice Dec 18 Band Practice, Performance @ GPCC Dec 19 Rehearsal for Cantata Dec 20 Piano Dec 23 Christmas Cantata @ Trinity Dec 24 Christmas Cantata @ Trinity Dec 27-30 Church Camp As you can see, I have activities almost everyday so hiatus for blog is inevitable I'm afraid. Those underlined are the really big ones that I have to attend. Accounting for the fact that I have to squeeze in studying and doing homework in between and that my parents are overseas for the next few weeks, it's going to be hard. Grandma may be going within the next few days and it's going to hit me hard. Life is not a game for me, and I have to continue to take it seriously or I'll crumble. Hope you guys will pray for me and wish me the best for what I'm to do, and I'll also continue to pray for everyone's well-being as well as my own this holiday. There are so many things to do, but I'll find the fun in all that I do, if not why do I even accept doing all this performances for CNL? I have to build up experience and it's just outright fun. This is probably my only holiday post and for the few who read this, if you ever meet me during this time and see me lifeless, just come talk to me and cheer me up, it'll help immensely! Wish you guys a great holiday! Daniel
