The Complaint Letters Monday, January 3, 2011,11:47 PM
As taken from my Notes Section on Facebook:To: My Life From: Daniel Recap Just a brief note for myself to summarize this holiday's events. If i can rmb all. 30 October - Victoria School Open House First Saturday and already Open House for sec 1s' and their parents to come look around our school. Had our usual performance at the pond area and we did AG16 and Incredibles. Wasn't very convincing, but hey it happens. 6 November - First Cantata Practice Yup rmb'ed i was late and almost didn't attend. Thanks to a certain Ming En, found my way there. It was a different experience and got to see another side of Mr Tan (: and attended many practices after toward the main event. 25-26 November - Music Exchange w/ PLCB and PSSB Can't deny that this was one of the highlights of the holidays. Made SO many new friends who share the same common interest in music! The fact that the clarinet section was almost a class made it especially funny, and poor Sam had to coordinate all of us (or so I thought) and ended up all 3 schools were like split ._. but yup, the real fun and interaction really happened AFTER the exchange. In between though, Grandma had a really serious stroke and fall, and had her final trip to the hospital. 27 November - 45th Anniversary of VSCB Nothing short of a disaster on so, many, levels. I shan't add on. Yet despite all the crap, the last thing I was expecting were the few girls from PL that took the effort to come and support us. The time after the concert was really, when I started to converse with them. I know, I'm a social-fail. 6 December - Trip to Windworks It all started when i told Sam to get a mouthpiece. I had to say it. Ended up spending an afternoon at Windworks. Met Sam, Ling Yi, Wj, Syahmi at PL station and lunched at Post Office Macs. In which I supposed 'wasted food' even though it wasn't even my share. Then we met up with a bunch of sec 2s and spent approximately 3 hours at windworks trying out a lot of different stuff, after which we finally made our choices. I got this cool custom barrel and Sam got her B40 Lyre, and Ling Yi also got her Selmer S-something mouthpiece for her Greg haha. Awesome day. 10-13 December - Wake and Funeral Grandma passed away on the 10th at around 1am. So I had to cancel all other plans, and go for the wake. Had to miss band prac on the 11th, but i still made effort for the cantata rehearsal on the 12th. Special mention to Jeremy Chee and Qi Xun for visiting, despite the weird timing, you guys were great. Funeral and cremation was really, really emotional and sad. Now both my maternal grandparents have gone, but in a sense, it's great to see them both together again. It's times like these when the ties of families are put to the test, and I think we did pretty well. Now their ashes are together and hope they rest in peace, as they are now with the Lord. 11 December - Not So Silent Night Despite being in the midst of the wake, I made time for NSSN. Met the guys at PP Banquet and subsequently, the girls from PL too. Tbh, it wasn't their best performance, nor was it their best skit, and their efforts for the booklet/ticket/backdrop could have been MUCH better, it was a great night and really encouraged to join this year's one after O's, but we still have 11 more grueling months to tread through, so let's keep our heads and look forward. 17 December - Section Outing Had section outing at Marina Barrage and subsequently, Nex. Had a bit of fail planning and like lost our way, but we eventually made our way there anyway. Had a great time bonding with everyone and the picnic was just WINDY. We were all super baked under and sun and then made our way to nex, while missing our stop and making the whole ride more hectic along the way. Walked around, chatted, ate and finally watched MegaMind. Eventful day that could have gone better, but whatever. 23-24 December - Christmas Cantata Mega churches...are a bit weird for me. I feel really out of place, but still we put up the best performance we could, and really thanks to all who made the effort and killed the time to come and support us. It might have been a tad offensive for some of ya, but really don't think so much about it ^^ and the reception was CRAZY. I've never seen something of such a scale done before, but hey something new, and I never want to experience it again. 27-30 December - Youth Camp Nothing but pure fun! Great devotion, awesome group and super funny skit. You guys are a blessing in my life and this camp also really opened my eyes to God's greatness and how we should go on with our life, 'leaving our lives to the Potter's hands' as from Isaiah 64:8. Thanks to all of you, for me the best possible closure to the year. 1 Jan - Grandma's 82nd Grandma is really, really important to me. Not just because she's my only grandparent still with me, but because I have so many memories of her. So many moments I look back to realise that she has sacrificed so much, and that I've yet to pay her back. So I to make sure she has the time of her life, and that I'll treasure every moment I have left with her. So, superbly NO TIME FOR HOMEWORK. So I'm going to die in terms of academics, as I've not a single subject completely done, so bye bye free time, hello cramming! Thanks to all of you who made my holiday such a blessing, and I'll try my best for the monstrous year ahead. Daniel
